World Heritage sites tours-Bangladesh
Day 01: Arrive Dhaka
Upon arrival at Dhaka Airport, we are met and welcomed by our local guide and transferred to our Hotel.
we take a brief tour of Dhaka city to give us a good overview of the city of Rickshaws and the different facets of life in Bangladesh ( if time permits ). Evening, we will have taste of the famous Banglaldeshi cuisine as we enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight: Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka (1 night) (D)

Day 02: Dhaka / Jessore (flight)
Morning after breakfast, we are transferred to the airport for our flight to Jessore where we are met and we start tracing the rich heritage of Bangladesh. We commence with a scenic rural Bangladesh landscape as we drive to Bagerhat via Khulna. Our explorations here includes the famous Mosque city, visiting the 60 domes Mosque � a UNESCO World Heritage Site, tomb of Khan Jahan (Builder of the Mosque), the 9 dome mosque before continuing on to Khulna via Mongla.

Day 03: Khulna
A very interesting day ahead as we take an excursion to the world famous Sunarbans Forest - another UNESCO World heritage Site. Part of this excursion will be done by boat The Sundarbans mangrove forest, the single largest forest in the world (140,000 ha), lies on the delta of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers on the Bay of Bengal. The site is intersected by a complex network of tidal waterways, mudflats and small islands of salt-tolerant mangrove forests, and presents an excellent example of ongoing ecological processes. We visit the world�s largest mangrove belt � a popular habitat of the Royal Bengal tiger. The forest treasures 330 plant species, 35 reptiles, 400 fishes, birds and 42 mammals. An optional arrangement for fishing with the aid of otters during the Sundarban cruising can be arranged. (B,L, D)

Day 04: Khulna / Bogra
Another day into the heritage of this unique country as we proceed to Bogra, visiting first the Putia Temple city known for housing the Temples of Shiva and Govinda. After visiting the temples and admiring it�s artistic designs and architecture, we will experience today seeing the rural and village life of Bangladesh. We stop at various villages and the local bazaars to get a feel of the lifestyle. Upon arrival at Bogra we are transferred to our hotel.
Overnight: Hotel Naz Garden (2 nights) (B, L, D)

Day 05: Paharpur
Yet another day viewing another of Bangaldesh�s heritage to the world � the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Paharpur. At this Budsdhist Monastery we see the Buddhist Vihara dating back to the 8th century � the largest monastery south of the Himalayas. Its layout perfectly adapted to its religious function, this monastery-city represents a unique artistic achievement. With its simple, harmonious lines and its profusion of carved decoration, it influenced Buddhist architecture as far away as Cambodia. From here we continue to Mahasthan � an old fortress dating back to the 3rd Century B.C. Evening, we visit the local market and have not only bargains but a cultural experience. (B, L,D)

Day 06: Paharpur / Dhaka
A culturally refrehsing day ahead as we visit the weaver�s village in Tangail famous for Saris, lungis, bed sheets, etc. Here we also get an opportunity to see the village life and talk to the local folks whose lifestyle has remained simple and yet contained. After this we visit the Atia Mosque built in 1609 - a blend of pre and imperial Moghul architectures and styles. The Mosque is known for it�s majesty and beauty. We then continue to Dhaka from where we continue with our sightseeing of the capital city before being transferred to our hotel.

Day 07: Dhaka
After an interesting journey into the heritage sites and lifestyle of Bangladesh, we bid farewell as we are transferred to the airport for our flight. An ideal opportunity to combine this tour with another of Bestway�s tours in the region. Please ask for details. (B, L)

We are travelling to Egypt in March 2010. We are interested in hearing from honest and legitimate guides who can offer the following services directly. We prefer to work with a guide directly rather then a larger tour operator. References from recent guests will be asked, and checked.

Services required:

1. Pick up from Cairo airport. 1 full day touring with driver. Drop back to airport.
2. Aswan to Abu Simbel morning trip.. we book air, you pick us up at Abu, drive us, drop us back at airport. 2 hours in Abu
3. Sharm el Sheikh to Petra to Amman. 2 day tour. We have hotels. Just need driver and tour guide.. TO INCLUDE transfer from Sharm hotel through to drop off in Amman. We would like 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum, full long day at Petra and then tour up coast to include stop and swim in Dead Sea, salt formations, then few sites near Amman on way to airport drop off.

These trips involve some activity and occasional hard travelling days. Accommodation can sometimes be quite basic. Physical preparation is important and a flexible, open-minded approach is essential. On treks you may be hiking up to six hours a day through steep terrain, sometimes at altitude, and a good level of physical fitness is required.

Day 1: Cairo

. Arrival to the land of the pharaohs. At Cairo international Airport you will be welcome and assisted through immigration, and customs, then Escorted to your selected hotel.

Day 2: Cairo-Aswan

After breakfast, it's a time to enjoy our sightseeing journey.

A scenic drive will take you to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of United Upper and Lower Egypt, and then visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. After lunch, continue to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which has stood for the last 5000 years, Then you will go .In the evening we are transferred to the station for the night train to Aswan. Our air-conditioned carriage has large, comfortable seats (similar to business class seats on a �plane)

Day 3: Aswan

On arrival in Aswan we head to our hotel where we can relax for a while before heading out to explore the Nubian bazaar - a long and colourful street that snakes through the centre of town. Another option is a visit to the stunning Temple of Isis at Philae Island. After a break for lunch we might decide to head out on a felucca sailboat and then take a camel ride towards the Monastery of St. Simeon - a great way to spend the afternoon!

Day 4: Abu Simbel-Nile Cruise

Rising early we travel by road to Abu Simbel, one of the most impressive temples ever built and one of the highlights of our visit to Egypt. We follow the shores of Lake Nasser and generally arrive at the temple just after sunrise, a perfect time for photographs. We enjoy a tour of the site and later return to Aswan, arriving around midday, where we board our Nile Cruise boat. After lunch the rest of the day is free to sleep, relax on the sundeck or head back to the Nubian bazaar.
Days 5-6: Nile Cruise

Cruising along the Nile is a magical experience, sitting on the sundeck, watching timeless scenes as we glide over the dark waters. We stop at Komombo to visit the Temple of Sobek, a Greco-Roman temple that overlooks the river, and at Edfu we explore the well-preserved Temple of Horus, considered one of the finest examples of temple construction. All meals are served in the comfortable dining room, and on one evening we enjoy an impromptu fancy-dress party, which is always great fun. Arriving in Luxor we take horse-drawn carriages to the massive complex at Karnak, built over a period of some 2000 years, and one of the greatest temples ever constructed.

Day 7: Luxor-Baris

We rise early to cross the Nile, where our donkeys are waiting to take us into the Valley of the Kings. After matching up the donkeys to our riders we head off, just as the sun begins to rise in the eastern skies. It�s a great experience and one of the highlights of our visit to Egypt. We return to the east bank, where we meet our Bedouin crew, and after loading our gear we set off in 4WD vehicles to Baris. We spend our first night camping under the stars.
Meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 dinner

Day 8: Baris-Al Kharga-Dakhla

We reach Al Kharga, the largest of the oasis towns and a sizeable producer not only of dates but also cereals and vegetables. Just outside town are the remains of the Temple of Hibis, built by Darius I during the Roman period. There is time to visit the temple, as well as the Christian burial ground at Al Bagawat, dating to the end of the 7th century. We drive on, to Dakhla, where spend the night at a rustic camp with reed huts, communal showers and basic facilities and after a traditional meal we enjoy a fun night of music and dancing around the campfire.

Day 9: Dakhla/Camel Safari

After a leisurely breakfast we normally head off to the fabulous medieval mud-brick town of Al Qasr, exploring the timeless streets, seeing the old school, an ancient olive press and the granary. We also visit the excellent little Ethnological Museum, a locally-sponsored project which we support through our visits. There's also a hot spring nearby which makes a great rest stop either on the way out or when we return. The programme varies, depending on the season. We return for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing while we wait for the heat of the day to pass. In the late afternoon we set off on camels, riding through a desolate windswept landscape to the base of a Great escarpment, where we spend the night under the stars. With our Bedouin friends we sleep in a communal tent � or outside on mats � and can perhaps appreciate something of what life might have been like in the days when camel trading was the principal source of income.

Day 10: Dakhla-Farafra-White Desert

North of Dakhla is Farafra Oasis where we have time to visit the Museum and enjoy a swim in another of the many natural sulphur springs. A little further on we enter the White Desert, a spectacular region of wind-eroded limestone formations. The continual erosion has left a layer of fine white dust on the desert sands, hence the name �white desert�. We enjoy a sunset walk in this surreal landscape and spend the night camping under the stars. Note it can be very cold in the winter months (Oct-Mar) so make sure you are well rugged up if you are travelling at this time. We recommend you have thermals and a fleece.

Day 11: White Desert-Bahariya-Cairo

Bahariya is the most northerly of the Western Desert oasis towns and we stop here for a break on our way back to Cairo, which we expect to reach in the late afternoon. On arrival we farewell our Bedouin friends and after time to freshen up we can enjoy a final night out together.

Day 12: Cairo

Our trip ends today, after breakfast. Check-out time is usually around 12.00 noon however you are free to leave at any time.

These trips involve some activity and occasional hard travelling days. Accommodation can sometimes be quite basic. Physical preparation is important and a flexible, open-minded approach is essential. On treks you may be hiking up to six hours a day through steep terrain, sometimes at altitude, and a good level of physical fitness is required.

Day 1: Cairo

. Arrival to the land of the pharaohs. At Cairo international Airport you will be welcome and assisted through immigration, and customs, then Escorted to your selected hotel.

Day 2: Cairo-Aswan

After breakfast, it's a time to enjoy our sightseeing journey.

A scenic drive will take you to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of United Upper and Lower Egypt, and then visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. After lunch, continue to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which has stood for the last 5000 years, Then you will go .In the evening we are transferred to the station for the night train to Aswan. Our air-conditioned carriage has large, comfortable seats (similar to business class seats on a �plane)

Day 3: Aswan

On arrival in Aswan we head to our hotel where we can relax for a while before heading out to explore the Nubian bazaar - a long and colourful street that snakes through the centre of town. Another option is a visit to the stunning Temple of Isis at Philae Island. After a break for lunch we might decide to head out on a felucca sailboat and then take a camel ride towards the Monastery of St. Simeon - a great way to spend the afternoon!

Day 4: Abu Simbel-Nile Cruise

Rising early we travel by road to Abu Simbel, one of the most impressive temples ever built and one of the highlights of our visit to Egypt. We follow the shores of Lake Nasser and generally arrive at the temple just after sunrise, a perfect time for photographs. We enjoy a tour of the site and later return to Aswan, arriving around midday, where we board our Nile Cruise boat. After lunch the rest of the day is free to sleep, relax on the sundeck or head back to the Nubian bazaar.
Days 5-6: Nile Cruise

Cruising along the Nile is a magical experience, sitting on the sundeck, watching timeless scenes as we glide over the dark waters. We stop at Komombo to visit the Temple of Sobek, a Greco-Roman temple that overlooks the river, and at Edfu we explore the well-preserved Temple of Horus, considered one of the finest examples of temple construction. All meals are served in the comfortable dining room, and on one evening we enjoy an impromptu fancy-dress party, which is always great fun. Arriving in Luxor we take horse-drawn carriages to the massive complex at Karnak, built over a period of some 2000 years, and one of the greatest temples ever constructed.

Day 7: Luxor-Baris

We rise early to cross the Nile, where our donkeys are waiting to take us into the Valley of the Kings. After matching up the donkeys to our riders we head off, just as the sun begins to rise in the eastern skies. It�s a great experience and one of the highlights of our visit to Egypt. We return to the east bank, where we meet our Bedouin crew, and after loading our gear we set off in 4WD vehicles to Baris. We spend our first night camping under the stars.

Day 8: Baris-Al Kharga-Dakhla

We reach Al Kharga, the largest of the oasis towns and a sizeable producer not only of dates but also cereals and vegetables. Just outside town are the remains of the Temple of Hibis, built by Darius I during the Roman period. There is time to visit the temple, as well as the Christian burial ground at Al Bagawat, dating to the end of the 7th century. We drive on, to Dakhla, where spend the night at a rustic camp with reed huts, communal showers and basic facilities and after a traditional meal we enjoy a fun night of music and dancing around the campfire.

Day 9: Dakhla/Camel Safari

After a leisurely breakfast we normally head off to the fabulous medieval mud-brick town of Al Qasr, exploring the timeless streets, seeing the old school, an ancient olive press and the granary. We also visit the excellent little Ethnological Museum, a locally-sponsored project which we support through our visits. There's also a hot spring nearby which makes a great rest stop either on the way out or when we return. The programme varies, depending on the season. We return for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing while we wait for the heat of the day to pass. In the late afternoon we set off on camels, riding through a desolate windswept landscape to the base of a Great escarpment, where we spend the night under the stars. With our Bedouin friends we sleep in a communal tent � or outside on mats � and can perhaps appreciate something of what life might have been like in the days when camel trading was the principal source of income.

Day 10: Dakhla-Farafra-White Desert

North of Dakhla is Farafra Oasis where we have time to visit the Museum and enjoy a swim in another of the many natural sulphur springs. A little further on we enter the White Desert, a spectacular region of wind-eroded limestone formations. The continual erosion has left a layer of fine white dust on the desert sands, hence the name �white desert�. We enjoy a sunset walk in this surreal landscape and spend the night camping under the stars. Note it can be very cold in the winter months (Oct-Mar) so make sure you are well rugged up if you are travelling at this time. We recommend you have thermals and a fleece.

Day 11: White Desert-Bahariya-Cairo

Bahariya is the most northerly of the Western Desert oasis towns and we stop here for a break on our way back to Cairo, which we expect to reach in the late afternoon. On arrival we farewell our Bedouin friends and after time to freshen up we can enjoy a final night out together.

Day 12: Cairo

Our trip ends today, after breakfast. Check-out time is usually around 12.00 noon however you are free to leave at any time.
